This week: Yves Engler is a freelance journalist and author whose book titles include: the Mavis Gallant Award nominated, ‘The Black Book of Canadian Foreign Policy,’ ‘Canada in Haiti: Waging War on the Poor Majority,’ co-authored with Anthony Fenton, and his latest, ‘Canada and Israel: Building Apartheid,’ in which he poses the question: “How did Canada become the most pro-Israel country in the world?” Yves will be in Victoria, speak to the thesis of his book this Thursday March 25th here at the University of Victoria. Dru Oja Jay is a Montreal-based activist, researcher, journalist, member of the editorial collective, The Dominion, and author of the report, ‘Offsetting Resistance: The Effects of Foundation Funding from the Great Bear Rainforest to the Athabasca River.’ Dru Oja Jay and resisting the “Offsetting” of the environmental movement in the second half.
