Gorilla Radio with Chris Cook and Denis Halliday September 18, 2000

This from the wayback: I spoke with Denis Halliday, the former UN Assistant Secretary-General and resigned Head of the UN Oil for Food Programme in Iraq about the plight of a people surviving on the wrong side of an embargo. Now, Halliday is aboard the MV Rachel Corrie as it steams through the Mediterranean towards Gaza, not heeding the threats of Israel's bloody-handed navy it's fitting he's back to try again to end another remorseless siege.

5:00:00 2:00 Welcome to Gorilla Radio, etc. For more than ten years, the United Nations Security Council has enforced an embargo against Iraq. In that time, by the U.N.'s own estimates, more than a million Iraqi citizens have died as a result.

On today's show, Former UN Assistant Secretary-General
and resigned Head of the UN Oil for Food Programme in Iraq,
Denis Halliday on the continuation of a policy he's described as genocidal…
