April Fool’s Day also marks the beginning of British Columbia’s trophy Grizzly Bear hunting season. Incredibly, despite more than 80% opposition, the provincial government, running next month for reelection, still approves this regressive industry.
Between 100-150 showed up on the lawns of the provincial seat of government, at the Legislature Building grounds in Victoria, to hear speechifying against the continued sanctioning of the trophy hunt. I went down to hear what there was to hear.
