Gorilla Radio with Chris Cook, Dave Lindorff, Patrick Henningsen, Christina Nikolic June 8th, 2017

While tomorrow’s date may not live infamous, remembered forever as the beginning of the end of Donald J. Trump, it could well prove the calendrical moment marking the end of the beginning of his short-lived political career.

Tomorrow, June 8th, 2017, James Comey, the former director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, fired amidst that organization’s most singular investigation ever, one threatening the legitimacy of the administration itself, will testify before a special Senate Intelligence Committee. Certainly, what the committee asks, and how Comey answers will determine the news cycle for weeks and months to come, but tomorrow’s performance may too determine the ultimate fate of the fledgling Trump presidency.

Dave Lindorff is an award-winning journalist, author, broadcaster, and founder of the award-winning web news site, This Can’t Be Happening.net. His book titles include: ‘This Can’t Be Happening! Resisting the Disintegration of American Democracy,’ ‘Marketplace Medicine: The Rise of the For Profit Hospital Chains,’ ‘Killing Time: An Investigation into the Death Row Case of Mumia Abu-Jamal,’ and, with Barbara Olshansky, ‘The Case for Impeachment: The Legal Argument for Removing President George W. Bush from Office.’ You can tune in Dave’s This Can’t Be Happening radio program Wednesdays at 5pm eastern time on PRN, the Progressive Radio Network.

And; Thursday also marks the day Britons go to the polls. Sitting prime minister, Theresa May promised to hold her predecessor, David Cameron’s course, shepherding the UK out of the European Union, while assuring voters she would wait until after the so-called Brexit was initiated before calling an election to test her inherited mandate. Sensing an advantage perhaps, May changed her mind, calling a snap election. She has since watched her party’s seemingly insurmountable poll advantage dissipate in the weeks preceding the vote. Then there was Manchester; and now, the London Bridge terror attacks.

Patrick Henningsen is co-founder and executive editor of the online news site, 21st Century Wire, and host of its radio program, Sunday Wire. Focusing on geopolitical analysis, they provide an essential counter-narrative to a skewed media monolith. Patrick frequently features too as a commentator on RT.

And; horticultural guru and intrepid green entrepreneur, Christina Nikolic will join us at the bottom of the hour with the Left Coast Events update, bringing us up to speed with some of the good things planned in and around our town for the coming week. But first, Dave Lindorff and Donald Trump’s first congressional test.
