Gorilla Radio with Chris Cook, Ingmar Lee, Yves Engler September 17, 2025

Welcome to Gorilla Radio, recorded September 17th, 2025

The old adage, ‘think globally, act locally” has synergized in two Canadian political contests. For the upstarts vying for leadership of the BC Greens and federal NDP the ongoing genocide in Palestine is both global and local; and voters agree. But two years after the slaughter began, the Canadian establishment remains unmoved.

The United Nations Commission of Inquiry declaration yesterday of the obvious has elicited little more than gas from Mark Carney’s government, and further disdain from the country’s militarist Parliament. Israel takes comfort in that and will, in spite of the UN Commission’s finding, (and majority opinion of UN member states) continue “opening the Gates of Hell” until forcibly stopped. Canada may not be able to change that, but Canadians can end our government’s collusion with the modern Holocaust.

Ingmar Lee is a long-time BC-based environment defender. His articles have appeared at CounterPunch for more than two decades, while his direct action in British Columbia and other places has been legendary for at least as long. He’s currently watching the BC Green Party leadership campaign closely.

Ingmar Lee in the first half.

And; as well as Emily Lowan’s challenge for the BC Green leadership, Eco-socialist, author, journalist, and political activist Yves Engler is contending for the federal NDP’s first chair. He’s managed to hurtle considerable, (and unprecedented) obstacles just to gain a place at the NDP podium; but that race isn’t won, yet. Yves’ Canada-wide campaign tour, that will bring him to the island later this week, has had a rocky start in Toronto – perhaps predictably so.

Yves Engler and bringing a new message to the New Democratic Party in the second half.

But first, Ingmar Lee and global becoming local all thanks to Palestine.
